TWA GRAND FINAL Reunion – 23rd to 24th April 2027

The Wilhelmshaven Association Committee (TWA) is pleased to announce its 2027 and Final Reunion, which will be held in Stratford-upon-Avon from Friday 23rd to Sunday 25th April 2027. In recognition of this being our final reunion, we have made an exception to our usual membership requirement and are opening attendance to all ex-pupils, whether or not they are members of the TWA. We hope this will enable as many former pupils as possible to attend. We have also made an exception to our usual practice of selecting a new venue each year by returning to the Crowne Plaza. The previous reunion there was highly successful, and many members have expressed a wish to return.
Below are details of the venue and ticket prices. Further information will be available on Facebook. The weekend ticket price, which excludes accommodation is £89 for a weekend ticket and £74 for Saturday only attendance.
You may pay a £10 deposit per ticket but the full balance must be paid by the 1st of March 2027.
If you cancel your event booking by 31st March 2027, you will receive a refund of the ticket price.
Ticket prices exclude accommodation, parking fees and any other miscellaneous expenses you incur with the hotel.
If you wish to pay by credit/debit card the safest option is to use the PayPal system further down the page.
You do not need a PayPal account – just your card details.
Accommodation:
It is centrally situated in the town centre and many sights within easy walking distance.
A short journey away is the World Class attraction of Warwick Castle.
The week we are there is the annual celebration of Shakespeare’s birthday and there will be several events taking place in the town.
We have reserved 120 rooms for the event but would advise you to book your rooms early. There is the expectation of a heavy demand for rooms in Stratford for this weekend.
The price for the rooms that has been negotiated for the nights of the 23rd and 24th of April is single: £135 per night and double £145 per night.
If you wish to stay for the Thursday or Sunday nights as well the rates are: Thursday Single £138/Double £148. Sunday Single £120/Double £130.
All the quoted rates include breakfast.
To get these rates the hotel has stated that bookings should only be made by phoning the hotel on +44 (0) 1789 279 928 and quote ‘PRS’ as the booking reference. Do not call the Central Reservation number or try to book online.
When you book your room, the hotel will require prepayment and will advise that bookings are non-refundable under their standard terms. However, the hotel has confirmed that, given the age profile of our attendees, requests for cancellation due to genuine exceptional circumstances, such as serious illness, hospitalisation or bereavement, will be considered sympathetically on a case-by-case basis. We strongly recommend that attendees consider appropriate travel/holiday insurance.
If you or your guest is disabled, it is strongly recommended that you advise the hotel of this when making your booking and again on arrival. Similarly, if you need help either unloading your luggage or carrying it to your room please let the hotel reception know that you need assistance. Car parking for the reunion is free and electric vehicle charging points are available.
Provisional Programme:
Friday evening
- We are planning a talk by Dr Grace Huxford, a noted academic whose research focuses on BAOR, military family life, and service children’s education during the Cold War.
- Dr Huxford would also like to speak with past pupils during the weekend.
- The reunion weekend will begin with a welcome drink, followed by a fork buffet.
Saturday
- Morning and afternoon: spend time with friends or explore Stratford upon Avon and the surrounding area.
- Evening: enjoy the formal dinner, followed by a disco and dancing.
For the Saturday dinner, you may choose to sit with friends or opt for potluck seating. If you would like to sit with friends, please enter their names in the space provided on the booking form. If no names are entered, we will assume you have chosen potluck seating.
The enclosed booking form also lists the menu options. Please make your menu selection when booking your ticket.
To enable us to plan the event please return your booking form and deposit ASAP.
Don’t forget to complete your choices for the Saturday dinner. If you choose to pay a deposit you must pay the balance by 1st March 2027.
Getting there:
By Car – Crowne Plaza Stratford upon Avon, Bridgefoot, Stratford upon Avon CV37 6YR.
By Train – The hotel is a short taxi ride from Stratford upon Avon railway station. The station is well served by taxis.
By Air – The nearest airport is Birmingham Internation Airport.
Alternative Accommodation: If you choose not to stay at the Reunion venue then there are alternative hotels close by to the Crowne Plaza. The closest is the Premier Inn Stratford upon Avon Central hotel which is a very short walk to the Crowne Plaza. There is another Premier Inn, the Stratford Waterways, which is further away so should not be booked if you wish to be close to the venue.
